    from neighbours and for years her own people were unable to make any. She certainly does not believe that this was due to any natural occurrence.
    On one occasion she remembers some person coming into her father's house and remarking to him that -- (she would not mention his name) had gone to Waterford with two firkins of butter. (The person in question had only two or three cows) "So well he might" her father replied "and Jim Shea after losing all his butter last night."
    When people found this curse lying on them they resorted to two things:-
