  2. There is an old glen where Clodiagh stream is running down within a half a mile of Brandon Hill. There is a big rock of stone about six or seven tons weight which was supposed to be the altar. There was a hole in the top of the stone for the candle. The priest used to come different ways along the hills and through the fields and old lanes. He would appoint the time to be there every Sunday.
    The present Chapel below in Clodiagh was built about a year before the penal times. The roof of it was thatched. It was surrounded by large trees, where nobody could see it. The
