    lays five or six eggs.
    The pheasant lays about fourteen or fifteen eggs. A pheasant generally builds her nest in a field of corn. Last year I found a pheasants nest in a field of corn.
    The thrush builds her nest in a hedge made of grass and twigs. She lays from five to six eggs.
    The swallow generally builds her nest in the shed. We get their nests every year, at the putting in of the corn.
    The chaffinch builds her nest in a bough of a tree. She covers it outside with leaves the same kind of the tree, so it is very hard to find a chaffinche's nests. She lays from five to six eggs. She hatches the eggs for three weeks.
    No one should rob a bird's nest, because the bird does not like it. The bird will know if the eggs are touched and then she will forsake her nest, and go and build another one.
