    thery used to have sore eyes or ears or a headache, they used to go to the blessed well in Kilcross to be cured. The way erysipelas used to be cured in olden times is by an herb plaster and only certain people can cure it.
    There is an old woman in this district named Mrs Brennan. She can stop a bleeding wound by a certain prayer she has. The people used to poultice invalids in olden times. The way they used to cure boils is by poulticing them with crushed flaxseed.
    The thrush used to be cured by goose grease. The whooping cough was cured by honey and flaxseed drinks. A corn used to be cured by a little leaf called a penny leaf that grows in the ditch. Cure for measles was to drink the milk of a sheep. The people used to go over to St Mullin's to get cured of lumbago and rheumatism and any other ailment's. Some people go every year on the 25th of July to see the blessed well. The cure for a sore throat is by roasting a potato and putting it in a stocking, and putting it around the neck for
