  1. Mr Crowdell, a poet, lived where Mr Pk. O'Brien now lives. He is buried in the 'Old Graveyard.
Shortly before he died, he composed the Hills O'er Kilmoganny:-
Oft in the Sunny days of yore,
    When childhood's days were fleeting
I sported by the sloping hills
    My heart with pleasure beating.
The hills of streams - of childhood's dreams
    The HIlls o'er Kilmoganny
These dear old hills - those kindly hills
    The Hills o'er Kilmoganny.
As years rolled by - content was mine
    My daily task fulfilling
For smiling plenty in my home
To work hard I was willing
Each day I ploughed the dear old fields
That I love the best of any
    And summer breezes whispered sweet
    Oer the hills oer Kilmoganny
The Hill's I love - all hills above
    The Hills oer Kilmoganny
    The woodlands ring with melodies
    Ere sunrise in the morning
