    a lovely deer, which they followed. One of the dogs caught it, but it escaped, so Fionn told the Fianna to go off & that he would follow the deer.
    After a while, he came to a lake & there sitting beside it, was a maiden crying. Fionn came up to her, but on the moment, she was turned into a fawn & went away like the wind. On the spot, Fionn's hair turned fair & thus he was called Fionn.
