- A little girl named Phillis Walsh of Thomastown was playing outside her own house about four years ago, when she fell into the river Nore and was drowned. Her body was found about a fortnight later in the branches of a tree near Brownsbarn.
- Miss Shea formerly of Ballyduff was walking along the bank of the river near her home. She slipped in and was drowned. Her body was found a week later at Inistioge.
- Miss Power of Kilfane, Thomastown when swimming with Miss Connelly Ballyduff near the latters house was drowned. She got a cramp and floated down the river, and was dead when taken from the water about an hour later.
