  1. There are many different kind of cures for certain ailments.
    RHEUMATISM; Embrocation made of turpentine and the whites of eggs or a glass of Kruschen salts every morning.
    WARTS; The head of a match or an ivy leaf.
    SORE THROAT; Baked salt in a woolen stocking or a drink of Bread Soda.
    SORES; A weed called Yarrow when it is pounded up.
    BOILS; Sugar and soap grated up or a poultice of linseed meal.
    BLEEDING; A cobweb.
    SCOURVY; A weed called buckles pounded up or stewed.
    TOOTHACHE; Redden and iron and cool it in a glass of wine and drink it.
    PAIN IN THE EAR; Hot castor oil or melted unsalted butter.
    SORE EYES; Cold black tea.
