- One day Pat Lalor, Esker, Timahoe when working for Mr. Davison was digging a grave in the graveyard near the Round Tower in Timahoe.
He came across an underground passage; he knocked a stone out of the top in order to find its depth.
Pat put his hand with a bar of about four feet long down in the hole but when pulling it back he let the bar fall and Mr Davison heard it hit a hard floor.
He though the passage was about 8 feet high.
A man named Joe Lalor who is at present living in Ballinaclough, Timahoe came across an underground passage in Mr. Foyle's field in Cullenagh and is of the opinion that it is the same as that in Timahoe.- Collector
