    that if a swan flies over the hause it is the sign of a death in that hause. People never kill swans because it is believed they have magic power since the children of Lir were changed into swans. The cuckoo is like the swallows a migratory bird. She comes to this country in April and leaves it again in July. People are always glad to hear the cuckoos sweet song. It is believed that from whatever direction you hear the cuckoo from that direction you will get your husband or wife.
