  1. There is a story told in this district of a strange animal. A certain man told that when he was passing through a field on a very dark night a strange animal followed him This animal he said had the shape of large dog. He also heard a noise like a chains ratteling. But it is everybody's belife that the strange animal was nothing but a neighbours sheep-dog who haveing broke lose from a pole to which he was tied, had a bit of his chain dragging after him.
