- When a new moon lies on its back it is a sign of bad weather and if it is very bright and clear it is a sigh of frost.
If the stars are wild and glittering it is a sign of a storm and when they are very bright it is a sign of frost.
When the clouds are moving very rapidly it indicates a storm. When they are red in the west it is a sign of good weather.
If the swallows fly low it is a sign of rain. Also if you hear the curlews screeching it is a sign of wet weather.
If the sheep cone down from the hill it is a sign of a storm.
