  1. A man named Ned Kean had a field in which there was a fort. For many years it was believed that there was a treasure in this fort. There was a man in Roxboro' named Pat Bannahan. One night as he lay awake in bed a spirit came and knocked at the window. The spirit told him the treasure was under a bush in the fort. He also told him there was a cat minding it, he told him that the cat went to mass in Derrane in the form of a man. He told him he was to go while the cat was away. The second night he said to bring holy water with him and sprinkle it for a good distance around the bush. He came the third night and repeated what he had said the first and second night. But he also said that when the cat would find the treasure taken he would die. The man got treasure and lived happily ever after.
