    The following list contains some of the local cures...

    The following list contains some of the local cures for certain ailments - they are still practised.
    For Measles
    Ferrets milk, as a drink or the food left over by a Ferret. Sheeps dung boiled strained & drunk.
    Whooping cough
    Donkeys milk as a drink, Under & over donkey 9 times.
    Toothache
    cloves, pepper, salt, soot & pepper mixed.
    Burn-
    Cruithneacht an tailimh and cream boiled. oil, bread-soda, cow dung, ink, hold near fire. Yolk of egg, and fresh butter boiled.
    head ache
    Vinegar, cold water, bandage, feet raised.
    Sunburn,-
    Buttermilk
    Sprain-
    Goose Grease, hold under spout wild sage plant made into tea,
    Cuts
    Cobweb, and cowdung, Rib-leaf chewed, Frogs entrails, moss; sugar & soap paraffin oil. urine,
