There is no holy well in my parish but there is one in an adjoining parish. The place where it is, is called Brideswell. The well that is there is St Brigids Well. The people visit it on the last Sunday of July, which is called "Pattern Sunday." There are prayers said there. There are no relics left behind at it. There is one fish in the well, called a trout, who comes there every seven years. No one ever tried to drain or to pollute the well. There is a wall round it, and a big tree over it. The wife of Sir Randoll Mc Donnell was cured at it many years ago.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
