  2. Long ago the people from Connaught use to go to Leinster to sell the cattle. This year a family named Killians had five beasts and they prepared the night before to go to the fair of Moate.
    This was a long distance and owing to so many turns and cross-roads one person was not able to drive them. In this house there was only one man so he asked his neighbour to go part of the way with him. He said willingly he would go. The next morning they arose early and began their journey. Before long they were gone about three miles and passed through Athlone. They still had to go ten miles out to Moate. In about one hour they were
