    is sent to Kenmare to be carded before it is spun, and long ago the people used card it for themselves.
    The old people used make their own candles long ago. Whenever they killed a cow the tallow was kept, and melted. Every house had moulds was placed point downward on a sod of turf. The wick was passed through it, and fastened at the top by a nail. The boiled tallow was poured into the mould then, and left to set, and after a few hours it is taken out.
