  1. Diarmuid was a member of the Fianna. He was in love with a girl named "Gráinne", the King's daughter. Fionn Mac Cool was also in love with Gráinne and he wanted to marry her. Gráinne did not like Fionn so she ran away with Diarmuid.
    When Fionn found out that Diarmuid and Gráinne had run away he gathered his men and followed them. He searched the country high and low, but he could not find them.
    Diarmuid and Gráinne escaped to a mountain in Co. Sligo where they lived for a year. At the end of that time, the King found out where they were living and
