    the deep went all
    A violent surf upon the rocks my mangled corpse did throw
    While all my brave companions lay in the deep below[?]
    In this doleful situation I lay until next day
    Watching of the foaming tide on its resistless way
    I was from the land I was espied though many were the tears
    That flowed unto the safety of each Irish heart sincere
    It was early on next morning a small boat I then spied
    Making fast towards me to me no little joy
    She was manned by five brave fellows who timely did succeed
    In rescuing me from my sad fate though daring was their deed
    The names for to make mention great thanks to them is due
    There was Tom and Andy Baisley old Lynch and Grady too.
    There was Stranore the coast guard who knew no dread or strife
    They timely did endeavour to save my precious
