- Once during the Penal days a priest was hunted in a place called Rath-an Dreamhán, and he went into a protestant house. The owners were Swantons. The man of the house went over to the window and he saw rooks in his wheat. While he was looking out of the window the soldiers come and searched every part, and the priest stood with his back to the hearth and they could not see him. After the soldiers left the priest went out, and sent away the rooks, and since then a rook did not perch in that field, and the best crops are always in it.
