    An orangeman named Lannin of Bandon was killed at Timoleague nearly 100 years ago.

    Mr Ferguson protestant minister at Kilmalooda
    Who rigidly enforced the Lithe Lan was
    Killed at the Bridge near Baurleigh School.
    Travers landlord of Timoleague caused
    the gates of Kilmalooda churchyard
    to be locked and prevented Catholic
    burials
    Father Ned Malcahy then P.P of Timoleague
    led his men parishoners one Sunday to
    the churchyard.
    They broke open the gates.
    Travers collected tolls at Timoleague Fair
    until one farmer resisted
    The farmer was killed in the melee and
    the toll collecting ceased.
