    "... It's ró-bhréagh you'd take your school-master chun Droichid leat,
    And home leat again dá nglaodhfadh sé ar bolgamach.
    And the two bla'guards praching and mise traochta ag an ocras."
    ....
    "Pull on, tear away agus ná géill do'n Eaglais."
    This piece was composed by someone (unknown) for Lehanes of Burren, Kilbrittain. They owned a mule and every Saturday he was driven to town; the local schoolmaster got a drive in the cart. The "Droichead" referred to is Droichead na Banndan.
    When the mule died all the dogs of the district came to the feast. Another part of the song describes this but I have not been able to get any of it except the last line. The feast took place on Friday and the biggest dog said to the others:-
    "Pull on, tear away agus ná géill do'n Eaglais!"
