    When there are a lot of "mackarel" clouds in the sky it is a sign of fine weather.

    A rainbow at morn is the Shepherd's warning.
    A rainbow at night is the Shepherd's delight.

    A full rainbow at noon foretells a spell of good weather, a half one is a sign of bad weather.

    When only one rainbow is to be seen it is a sign of bad weather, when two appear it is a sign of fine weather
