    Birds and animals as weather omens'-
    1.Seagulls flying inland is the sign of rain.
    2.Swallows flying low over the ground is the sign of rain.
    3.Rooks return their nests earlier than usual before rain.
    4.When the wild geese fly inland in the Winter it is the sign of rain.
    5.When the curlews are whistling it is for rain.
    6.When the crows are perching in sticks and flying low it is for rain.
    7.When the crows build high the season will be fine.
    8.Ducks and geese are picking their feathers, and the geese are flying before rain.
    9.Hens seem restless , before rain.
    10.Cats and dogs get sleepy and dull, and lie drowsily before the fire, before rain.
    11.Small insects come to the surface of the soil for the food that they had to seek underground in the dry weather is a sign of rain.
    12.If flies and small insects come into the houses and are very troublesome looking.
    13.On a Summer's day if cows run with the flies into the cow houses under the shade of trees and into the rivers is a sign of rain.
    14.Dogs are seen eating grass.
