   There are seven old people , over seventy years, living there. There names Mrs. Nora Deely, Jeremiah D. Foley, Cornelius Foley, John J. Curtin,
   James Leahy, Thomas Duane, and William Deely all of
   Rockhill,
   Rockchapel,
   Co. Cork.
   They do not know any Irish , but they tell stories in English.
   Houses were more plentiful long ago. There is one ruin to be seen in my district.
   Some of the land is hilly and boggy, but more of it is good land.
   There is no wood or lake , but there is a river, the river Feale in the townland.

   I am living in the townland of Lyreneague, which is in the parish of Rockchapel and in the barony of Duhallow. Lyreneague means '' the bed of the deer''. It was so called because deer were very plentiful long ago. There are eighteen families in the district. There are eighty six people approximately living in it. The commonest is Lenihan. Most of the houses are thatch and others are ironed and slated.
