    women used take it out of the churn and wash it, then they used salt it, and put it in to a forkin and then send it to the (mak) markets. Three or four farmers used join up and send away their butter.
    It was the usual custom that anyone would enter the house while the butter was being made would put his hand on the staff and work the churn for a few rounds saying '' God save all here.'' This was done because they could not work any 'pisheogs' then, or take away produce of the butter.
