- In former times Mr. Daniel Reidy's house (in Milford) was thatched & when the thatch was being taken down a fiddle was found.
- The bed was placed in a corner of the kitchen.
- The front of the chimney was made of mortar & stones. Windows without glass were numerous in olden times. Bog deal splinters, rush lights (the dips) & tallow candles were used.
