    goods they can change their manner and humour. Then if they meet with refusals, they show for certain that they are only poor tin-smiths, because of their disgraceful language and their violent tempers.
    Our most frequent travelling visitors are Jim Kearney commonly known as "Crookstown", "Jack the tramp", "Foxy Robber" and Con Fleming. Those tramps travel on foot and seek lodging in farmers' hay-sheds or barns. They sing songs mostly of old fashioned nature.
    They depend on the kind-hearted folks who supply them with coppers and sometimes they invite them to their homes for their meals.
    Sometimes they do not show sincere gratitude to the house-wives.
