- About a hundred years ago there were no motors or busses, and the people had to walk to Cork. After a time they made a road, which was very mudy and sloopy. This road was straight from Cork to Roachstown, there it turned in the direction of Monkstown. The pillirs are still to be seen at the boundry between Creedans lawn and the golf links. When it came to Credans it ran through the golf links, down past the castle and out through Demesne gates.
