    and snow might mellow and sweeten the soil.
    In Spring it is reploughed harrowed and opened in drills. In each square perch a cart-load of manure is supplied to every nine drills. This is called a row of manure. The next thing to be done is to select the seed potato from the many varieties which grows well in our plot.
    "Irish Chieftains" and "Arran Banners", produce an abundant crop, but they are not the best table potatoes.
