Kind _ A churn was a round vessel, bulging in the middle, bound with hoops. On the top was a cover with a hole in the middle about 1" in diameter, through which was a churn-staff.
churn staff- The churn-staff was a round handle to which was attached a piece of timber about 6" or 8" square. There were also in the same piece of timber four holes.(continues on next page)
