There are ruins of an old church to be seen in Springfield.

There are the ruins of an old church to be seen in Springfield. There is also an old castle to be seen there. It was burned by the Anglo Irish in the year 1920 and was rebuilt again. There was a battle also fought in Springfield in the year 1579. The Geraldines and the English were fighting there. The Geraldines won the battle. The land belongs to Lord Muskerry. Springfield is in the parish of Broadford. There are the ruins of a church yard to be seen in Killougholehane. It was built about a hundred years ago.
