  1. In olden times people used to make toys for amusement, and these were their favourite ones. Tossballs were made by gathering a large amount of cowslips, and tying them in a bunch. The stems were then cut off, and children enjoyed themselves by throwing them into the air. Daisy chains were made by getting a long rush, and taking the stems off of the daisies, and finally by putting the rush into the middle of the daisies, until it was filled. When the daisy chains are made, people wear them around their necks, as an ornament.
