- There are a lot of fairy forts in this parish, about some of which legends are told. Forts are called nothing else in this district but forts. Forts are usually in sight of each other.
There is a fort in the townland of Kilmurry. It is said that one night two men were going to a fair. They went to catch a horse before going and a light came in front of them, and would not let them go in as they had to turn back again, and stay away from the fair. It is also said a light use to be seen over that fort every night. It is round in shape with trees encircling it.(continues on next page)- Collector
