- There was flax growing in our farm long ago, and the flax wells are to be seen to the present day. When my great-grandfather lived he used to grow a lot of flax, and all the linen used in my home was home spun. This is how they made it, they would clove the flax into wool and spin it with a linen wheel and they would sent it to a weaver to make it into coarse or fine linen.
