   The wife of a man named Tom Keane was always praying that God would open a gap for him. One night, during a storm, lightning struck the gable of the house and knocked it. "How" said Tom "there is your gap for you. Clear away quickly for fear he will shut it again. On another occasion Tom went into a public house in Tipperary town. In the bar there were two British officers drinking whiskey. The drinks were two whiskey's and soda. Tom had 2d in his pocket, and he said to
