  1. Once upon a time a farmer by the name of Dan Whelan R.I.P . of Glenacurrane was digging potatoes with two more men. He found on the ridge some boiled potatoes. They were put there by some one making phishogues. He took no notice of them that year but the next year he set oats in the same field. It came over ground all right and grew to about six inches and it turned yellow then and began to wither away. He tried Artificial manure in it but it never came to anything. The following year he set potatoes in the same field
