- There is a hill with view of the school here called Paradise Hill. On this hill was a holy well called Paradise Well. An old story tells that a woman (a shepherd's wife) washed clothes in this well and it disappeared and moved on to a place a quarter of a mile distant where it is still.
St Paradise is the patron saint of Anglesboro' and in his feast day rounds were made at the well.
