    the patient under and over an ass three times also drinking milk left by a ferret, eating bread made by a woman who did not change her name in marriage. Very often it would be better for the persons that they did not know what they were taking as the cure for jaundice was generally worms boiled in milk.
    Holy wells throughout the country are famous for curing certain ailments kilbrush well in this parish cures sore eyes. St. John's our own local well has been famed for cures, also St. Patrick's for wounds and sores.
