It is a great custom of the local poor people to collect eggs for Easter Sunday. Instead of taking money for badges they take eggs.
Christmas Morning.
On Christmas morning some member of the family goes outside the door, comes in again and wishes the rest a Happy Christmas.
St. John's Eve
On St. John's Eve a bonfire is lighted.
Chalk Sunday
On Chalk Sunday boys put chalk marks on the backs of such men as were not married during Shrove.
Hallow Eve
On Hallow Eve a tub full of water in which there is an apple is placed in the middle of the floor.
