- I live in the village of Puckane. It is in the townland of Kildangan, in the Parish of Kilodiernan, and in the Barony of Lower Ormond.
All the houses are slated except four, and they are thatched. It has a population of seventy-six people. There were more houses there in olden times. The land is fairly good around the village.
Puckane got its name from the picture of a puck-goat. It was hanging over the shop door. One day the people said it should not be called "Puckgoat," but Puckane. So it was called Puckane.
There is a forge in it. Jack Kennedy owns it. There is also a school in it.- Bailitheoir
