  1. Local Landlords
Mr. F.G. Minchin owned the districts of Killbiller, Lisquilabeen, Annagh, Murroughboro, Skehard, Glenbower, and Cameron.
This landlord's ancestors got the estate from Cromwell. The landlord and his ancestors were Protestants and Cromwellians also.
The late Mr. Minchin was looked upon as a good and kind landlord. Evictions did not often take place. The landlord evicted to or three people, but after a few weeks he allowed them to go back to their farms again. Some of his tenants did not pay him rent for years. The tenants would want to owe him a large sum before he would furnish them.
Before the last landlord's time there were tithes collected in the neighbourhood for the Minchin family. The people resented them. Old people say they have a faint recollection of a battle somewhere on the Minchin Estate on account of the tithes.
