- In olden times people had to go to the nearest town to make purchases. Because in those times people had more work to do than the people of the present day.
Buying and selling long ago was carried on after mas and this is still practiced.
Money was generally always given for goods and labour would be given in exchange for goods also.
The word with buying and selling was "Bute".
It was considered unlucky and it was forbidden to do business on certain days.
The markets were held in towns, and they are still held there.
