The priest, the poet, the doctor,
The artist of sage and renown,
Are sleeping their green jackets under
    The Graveyard of old Lagganstown.
    IV
I saw where the old Ryan's were buried,
Whose fame has gone over the Globe,
For they were the true sons of Uclean,
That once forged the great belt of Glebe,
They vied with the smiths of Manchester, Sheffield and great London town,
And brought back the prize to embellish,
Their homes in the old Lagganstown.
    V
I next saw the vault of brave Nugent
    The great bard reposes to-day
And shall until St. Michaels trumpet,
    Calls him to judgement away.
He once climbed the heights of Pernasus.
The great singing muses to bring down,
In sweet flowing numbers to Cassies,
    He landed in old Lagganstown.
    VI
He sang with a voice most melodious,
In praise of his dear native land,
The island of saints and of sages,
The home of the patriot grand.
