- One night a man from Miltown was going up to the White Strand
It was about half past eight oclock on a Summers evening
As the man came near the top of the Rhine he saw a mermaid sitting on the rocks. He watched her for a long tom.
She was combing her hair and after a while she went into the water.
People say if a person sees a mermaid he will die. A man up in Freigh saw a mermaid and he threw a stone at her. He went home and he died in a few days time- Collector
