When seagulls are seen on land it is the sign of approaching rain or storm. Another common belief is that, when swallows are seen flying high in the air it is a sign of good weather, and when they are seen flying low it is a sign of bad weather. When a crow is seen suddenly to swoop from a high altitude it is an omen of rain. When a dog is seen to eat grass it is also an omen of rain. When the people of this district see sheep frolicking they regard it as a sure sign of rain.(continues on next page)
