- One of the old crafts long ago was weaving linen. First the flax was put on the spinning wheel, and made into threads of linen. Then it was placed on the loom and made into linen.
One of my ancestors was a weaver who lived in Mullacrew whose name was (Peter Cassidy). He often walked to Drogheda, and Dublin with webs of linen to sell. When he had it sold he would return home, and that was one of his crafts.- Collector
