  1. Down by the sea and the flowing tide
    On the Termonfectin strand
    My aching thoughts for e'er abide
    As I toil in a distant land.
    And the burrows high they seem so nigh
    As thy picture before my gaze,
    With the bennet tall, and the se birds' call,
    Haunt all my weary days.
    Since I came to this land so great & free,
    I have met with fiends galore,
    But never seen the same to me
    As those I knew of yore,
    And my heart still grieves for the Sunday eves
    Where we roamed where fancy led
    When the golden strand stretched either hand
    From the Boyne to Clogherhead.
    I have worked through the cold and the deadly heat,
