- Story about a teacher who taught in 1798
There was a teacher named kiernan lodged with people named Butlers of Agher.
These Butlers used to wash for the gentry around.
Kiernan was suspected of being a Fenian so notice came to search the house. He had just time to hide the papers relating to the Fenians in a basket of washed clothes. The police were going to search the basket when the woman of the house said "Those clothes belong to Captain Fowler, if you touch them, I'll report you. So the police were afraid to touch the basket.
