    it is now in ruins. I remember seeing it standing. The floor was made of paving stones, the same as the street. When the chapel of Coole was being built Mass was said in this old barn of this house. It belonged to a family named Beglins. It was one time a car mans stage, the long coaches used to stop on their way to and from Dublin. In the time of the Famine there used to be a pot of stirabout boiled in this house for the people who were starving in the parish. The pot remained in the house till some time ago.
